It’s safe to say that Kris Aquino loves all things luxurious. She’s a known fan of designer labels but have you seen her vintage collection of Chanel bags?
According to Cosmopolitan Philippines, she shared it on her YouTube channel “The Aquinos,” where it has currently garnered 539,638 views, 3,000 likes, and around 324 comments as of this writing.
The source cited that Kris was accompanied by Aimee Hashim and Trish Cuason in the video. Aimee is the personal shopper behind Loveluxe Bags, while Trish is from Vintage Restore, a repair-and-restore shop in Manila.
The two women shared their knowledge on buying and taking care of vintage bags. Trish mentioned that vintage shopping in Japan is a noteworthy experience since the Japanese are known to be “meticulous” people.
She shared (as quoted by the source):
“The Japanese are known to be very meticulous people and very careful and honest. So definitely this is a good buy because hindi ka nila lolokohin.”
Aimee mentioned that she helped Kris Aquino look for vintage bags of excellent quality.
The “Queen of All Media” told her the following: “Focus lang tayo sa black. Kailangan gold hardware.”
Some of the bags in her vintage collection date back to the ‘80s and have the much-desired Series 1 number.
Kris also shared the importance of taking care of bags, no matter how cheap or affordable they are.
According to her, people should stuff them with old papers if they are not in use so that the bags will retain their shape.
Trish added that they should be used and aired out at least once a week.
In an additional report from GMA Entertainment, Kris Aquino stated her reason for collecting vintage Chanel bags.
“May excuse na ako. Nakahanap ako ng dahilan sa mga kapatid ko, my sisters. Kasi they said, ‘Okay, Krissy how many bags do you really need? And how many pairs of shoes?’ And then sabi ko, ‘No. Ang Chanel may meaning because it reminds me of mom. Initials niya.’”
