‘I wouldn’t trade my life here for the world.’ Krista Ranillo on the 180-degree turn her life made after leaving showbiz

Krista Ranillo is sure that she gained a far better deal once she left showbiz to start her own family. It definitely wasn’t easy for the celebrity to turn her back on the life she had been accustomed to. Some might not know but Krista Ranillo was born into a family of celebrities. Her parents were actors Matt Ranillo III and Linda Tupaz while Matt Ranillo Sr. and Gloria Sevilla were her grandparents.

But after the major controversy that surrounded her and boxing champion-turned-politician Manny Pacquiao, the next time Krista’s name appeared in the headlines was when she got married and that she is decided to live in the U.S.

The man that stole this former actress’ heart was none other than the supermarket CEO Nino Jefferson Lim. And life could not have turned out any better for her. PEP interviewed Krista back in 2011 when her role as a mother and wife started and she couldn’t help but gush about how genuinely happy and content she is with her life. Even if she missed showbiz then, what was more important was her family.

“Kasi dati nami-miss ko yung showbiz. Sabi ko, gusto kong umuwi. So, parang ngayon, hindi ako makalabas ng bahay pag hindi siya [Nate Jacob] kasama. Tapos parating nagwu-worry about him, yung talagang sa kanya na nagri-revolve yung buhay ko ngayon, grabe! I’m at peace. Masaya. My life is complete.”

She also opened up about how being a mother definitely gave her “a sense of fulfillment.”

“Ay naku, it’s really life-changing, as they say. You know, when you see your baby, ngayon nga, seven months na siya, so nagku-crawl siya, he’s starting to talk and say ’Mama.’ Pero mostly ’Dada’ yung sinasabi niya, ’Daddy,’ ganyan. Nakakataba ng puso, parang you feel a sense of fulfillment.”

Nino and Krista just welcomed Baby #4 back in August 2016 and was baptized back in February of 2017. It’s been one hell of a ride for Krista but she is savoring every moment with her kids while they’re still young. But this doesn’t mean that she doesn’t enjoy herself once in a while.

“I know sometimes it’s a little too much because I feel like I can’t breathe with four young kids, but I try to remind myself to enjoy them while they’re little.”
