Up and coming star Yassi Pressman is making waves for her stirring role as Alyana in the primetime series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” But it wasn’t always a good life for Yassi after her parents separated when she was still young. Born to a Filipino mother and British dad, Yassi and her younger sister Issa grew up with her father as their sole parent.
Despite their two-year age gap, Yassi stepped up to become her sister’s keeper. In the morning talk show “Magandang Buhay,” the actress recalled the experience.
“Naalala ko nagpapadala ng balikbayan box si mommy. Lagi kaming excited. Hanggang sa dumating na sa point na ayaw ko na ng box. Gusto ko na siyang bumalik. ‘Yung moment na ‘yun, umiiyak ako tapos nakita ko siya (Issa), umiiyak na din siya. Hala anong gagawin ko dito sa batang ito? ‘Yun na ang moment na sabi ko kailangan ko na maging ate. I have to be there for her.”
As for Issa, her elder sister was her best friend and mother in one.
“My sister kasi is very responsible. The first memory na mayroon ako nung bata ako was her being responsible na talaga. She’s very smart and very independent. As a younger girl naman, kailangan ko ng guidance and support. I always got that from her,” she shared.
Despite the bitter separation of their parents, Yassi and Issa revealed that they’re both okay with them. In fact, the two sisters met up with their older sibling, Cara, who was based in Italy. The 22-year-old actress shared the heartwarming first meeting on her Instagram, writing the touching caption:
“Twenty-two years of my life. Finally, I met my sister, Ate Cara. One more, Ate Shiobhan! Australia next. Complete na! She’s amazing. Ang dami kong niluha today, pwede ko nang maidagdag sa river.”
Most of those who read the post were amazed how similar Cara looked to Yassi and Issa. While Yassi has yet to meet her other sister in Australia, it’s enough to say that the three siblings are all beautiful.
