Love is blind: Beautiful woman slams stereotyping haters over her husband’s appearance

Like the Holy Rosary of the Catholics, they say that love is full of mysteries – a common slumbook answer. But the most common phrase everyone knows about developing romantic feelings for someone is that “Love is blind.” While it simply means that people fall in love despite their contrasting personalities, some take this to a more cruel way as they compare the physical attributes of a couple. Just like this pair of lovebirds who bravely faced their bashers over their ‘apparent’ mismatch in terms of skin color and attractiveness. In an effort to slam stereotyping over matching, the woman proudly shared an album of them together looking lovey-dovey.

On Facebook, the online user entitled her album “FeelingInloveeeeeee” to show how much she appreciates her man. In the photos, a fair-skinned woman was seen cuddling a man with beautiful chocolate-colored skin.

Although the pair looked happy in the sweet snaps, some netizens dissed the lady for hooking up with a guy who wasn’t as good-looking as her. Some bashed her, asking that she might regret her decision to fall in love with her boyfriend.

Luckily, others quickly came to her defense and pointed out that true love doesn’t depend on one’s appearances. Amen to that, sister.

Perhaps people should be educated more about the value of looking past the exterior to appreciate one’s inner beauty. How many times have we heard about attractive people acting nastier than plain-looking ones?

Thanks to society’s misleading and deeply-ingrained definition of beauty, Filipinos are brainwashed in believing that being fair-skinned and having long hair are what makes a woman beautiful. Moreover, these types of women should only be paired with equally good-looking man.

Further investigation revealed that the woman named Dreyah was officially off the market. Based on her Facebook post, she already tied the knot with her boyfriend last December 19, 2017 in a beautiful church ceremony.

Perhaps it’s about time that people should focus on more important things and less on shallow stuff, like social media, trolling, and fake news.

What could you say about this story? Are you one of those who judged the couple? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
