We all can agree that Rico J. Puno’s contribution in the OPM industry is truly undeniable. This legendary OPM artist has spent most of his life to give the public such remarkable songs. He is also the man behind the songs “Macho Gwapito,” “May Bukas Pa,” and “Magkasuyo Buong Gabi,” which are loved by the public. That’s why many Filipinos were shocked to hear his sudden passing at the age of 65.
This heartbreaking news was confirmed by his very sister-in-law and manager, Anna Puno. Her Instagram post immediately circulated the internet and has broke the hearts of millions.

“Numbed with grief, I would like to call on all entertainers in the OPM Industry as well as his worldwide fans to stop for a moment and say a prayer to one of the most respected singers in the country,” she wrote.
Anna also narrated how she visited the artist at St. Lukes Medical Center in Taguig. Little did she know that this will be her last visit to him.
“When he was in the hospital, they didn’t let him go. He went straight to the ICU. He was revived at first, then he was okay. When everybody left, he had a heart failure. They were trying to revive him for the second time, but he didn’t make it,” she said.
